Hailey Moore was raised in Bakersfield, CA. She has worked in various school districts for ten years, initially working as an ACES Program Leader, overseeing an after-school program class. Her responsibilities included tutoring students, as well as creating lesson plans for academic enrichment activities and physical education. Hailey then transitioned into a role as a substitute teacher, working with students from grade levels TK-8th and additionally serving as an examiner for the English Language Proficiency Assessment. While she has experience in both elementary and junior high schools, she particularly enjoys the environment of elementary schools, finding joy in witnessing the excitement of students over simple things like having a book read to them or receiving a sticker. She finds their innocence refreshing and endearing.
Having worked in the school system for an extended period, Hailey has become familiar with the grade-level standards and skills students are expected to learn. She has observed firsthand that many students struggle with reading proficiently according to their respective grade standards. Recognizing the long-term consequences of illiteracy among children, Hailey understands the importance of addressing this issue. Inadequate reading skills not only impact academic performance but also have implications for future careers and overall societal well-being.
During her time in the school district, Hailey discovered a new hobby, drawing. She realized that she could utilize her illustrations to create engaging and enjoyable materials that promote literacy and a love for reading and learning. As a result, Hailey is embarking on a journey to write and illustrate her first children's picture book. Additionally, she creates various educational worksheets, coloring pages, and activity sheets. Lastly, she provides the Young Readers after-school program, in which she provides an inviting space for children to read, discuss, rate books, and play various literacy games. She provides individualized support in reading and writing and also strives to ignite creativity through artistic projects using various art mediums.
